What is AMG?

AMG is the elite performance department of Mercedes-Benz. Originally, AMG started as a separate company that independently upgraded stock Mercedes-Benz models for better performance. These upgraded models then competed quite successfully in motorsport events around the world.

Then, in 1990 AMG officially became a part of Mercedes-Benz. That meant access to even more resources and a wider customer reach.

Decades later, AMG continues to produce the most powerful and exciting models available from Mercedes-Benz. Modern engineering developments have resulted in a batch of new models that are truly special in terms of performance. The key to this performance largely comes from AMG engines. 

AMG technicians hand-build each and every engine that comes from the organization. It's the only way to ensure the level of precision and quality that AMG represents.

AMG C 43

The popular Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets the high-performance treatment with the AMG C 43. Available in both sedan and coupe forms, the AMG C 43 is a compact sport model that's ready to run. It uses an AMG-enhanced bi-turbo V6 that produces 385 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. With help from a standard nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT transmission, the AMG C 43 can accelerate from zero to 60 mpg in 4.5 seconds.

AMG E 53

This model is built on the E-Class midsize platform. Like its C-Class counterpart, the AMG E 53 is offered in both sedan and coupe body styles. One thing remains consistent between the two, though: an AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with EQ boost and an electric auxiliary compressor. This powerplant makes a robust 429 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. Even with that kind of power, the AMG E 53 can manage  28 mpg highway.

AMG GLE 63

Not all AMG models at Mercedes-Benz Ann Arbor are low-slung coupes and sedans. The AMG GLE 63 is a stout, capable SUV with potent AMG upgrades. The heart of this SUV is a hand-built 5.5-liter biturbo V8 making 550 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. A standard AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission helps the AMG GLE 63 sprint from zero to 60 mpg in an amazing 4.2 seconds.

AMG GT

Mercedes-Benz has an elite, world-class sports car, and it's called the AMG GT. This two-door coupe is equal parts stunning looks, uncompromising performance, and top-tier luxury. Striking exterior looks are likely to turn heads wherever the AMG GT drives, while a standard 4.0-liter biturbo V8 ensures that it's heard as well. That V8 delivers 469 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque.
